Air India flight AI2030 from Frankfurt to New Delhi (Boeing 787-9 registered VT-TSE) diverted to Jaipur (JAI) on Wednesday after reportedly transmitting a hijack alert. Authorities have not confirmed any actual hijacking attempt, and all 306 passengers were safely disembarked.

Jaipur airport head Charan Singh told The Indian Express that the aircraft landed safely at 09:35 local time. He said preliminary indications suggested the pilot may have activated the alert accidentally, although an investigation was continuing.

According to initial reports, Ahmedabad air traffic control received a brief transmission of transponder code 7500, which signals possible hijacking or unlawful interference. Authorities later directed the aircraft to an isolation bay in Jaipur, where security teams inspected the aircraft and passengers’ luggage.

Early reports differed over whether the alert concerned a bomb threat or suspected hijacking. Air India had not issued a detailed statement at the time of reporting, and the cause of the alert remained unconfirmed.
