Air India adds 36 extra flights to Europe and Canada amid Middle East disruptions

Share

Air India will operate 36 additional international flights between 19 and 28 March 2026, increasing capacity on key routes to Europe and North America as demand surges due to ongoing disruption in the Middle East.

The extra services will connect Delhi and Mumbai with major destinations including London (Heathrow), Frankfurt, Zurich and Toronto. In total, the airline will add more than 10,000 seats across the five routes.

The move follows an earlier capacity increase earlier in March, when the carrier scheduled 78 additional flights on nine routes, underscoring sustained pressure on long-haul travel corridors linking India with Europe and North America.

Air India said the expansion is aimed at providing greater flexibility for passengers as flight options remain constrained, with many ?????ors rerouting journeys to avoid affected airspace in West Asia.

Bottom line: Air India is continuing to rapidly scale capacity on core long-haul routes, capitalising on displaced demand while helping to ease pressure on heavily booked Europe–India and transatlantic connections.
