Air Greenland has launched a new uniform collection for its employees starting Monday, June 2, showcasing a refreshed look deeply rooted in Greenlandic identity. The bold red designs reflect the airline’s iconic visual profile while incorporating cultural symbols such as the eagle wing and traditional knit wrist warmers. Developed with input from flight crews, ground staff, and cabin leadership, the uniforms are tailored for everyday versatility, gender flexibility, and functionality in Arctic conditions.
The uniform launch comes at a pivotal time as the airline enters its busiest season and navigates a changing aviation landscape, including the opening of new airports across Greenland. CEO Jacob Nitter Sørensen emphasizes that the uniforms represent more than appearance—they express Air Greenland’s commitment to safety, hospitality, and its societal mission of ensuring mobility to, from, and within the country. “They show who we are and how we welcome our passengers—with joy, professionalism, and a deep connection to our culture,” he said.
Every detail of the design reflects Greenlandic heritage and pride, from dotted buttons mimicking ice crystals to a newly designed wing emblem inspired by the white-tailed eagle. Head of Marketing Katja Vahl, who led the years-long project, highlights that the goal was to unite all professional groups under one cohesive look. While the main uniform is now rolled out, a specially developed outdoor collection—created with a local Greenlandic partner—will follow later this summer, designed to withstand both high-summer activities and harsh winter conditions.
