On July 9, Transavia’s retro-style Airbus A321neo completed its first test flight.
The aircraft, painted in a livery inspired by the 1960s to celebrate Transavia’s 60th anniversary, underwent the standard Airbus “First Flight” (F1) procedure. During this test, Airbus pilots and technicians checked all systems—from taxiing and takeoff to high-altitude flight and landing.
The next step is the delivery phase, where the test is repeated with Transavia staff before the plane is officially handed over. The retro aircraft combines vintage looks with modern technology—it’s cleaner, quieter, and more fuel-efficient.
The aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Friday, July 25, on a special ferry flight numbered HV1965, referencing Transavia’s founding year. It will be the twelfth Airbus A321neo in the airline’s fleet; the eleventh is expected to arrive on July 16.
Photos of the first flight have already been released, and video footage will be shared soon via Transavia’s official channels.
