In this day and age, where healthy living is becoming more and more important, we no longer think selling cigarettes suits our brand. We also see that the needs of our passengers have changed; the demand for cigarettes has decreased considerably in recent years. This has made us decide to stop selling cigarettes on board of our planes.” says Erik-Jan Gelink, commercial director of Transavia.

Cigarettes used to be available on flights to a destination outside Europe. Transavia has not advertised cigarettes since December 2017 and from 1 April 2018, the company will stop selling cigarettes. The cigarettes will be replaced with other products that match the wishes of the Transavia passengers.
