Transavia adds four Mediterranean destinations from Maastricht during Eindhoven closure

Share

Transavia will launch flights from Maastricht Aachen Airport to Ibiza, Zakynthos, Crete and Rhodes during the summer of 2027, further expanding its temporary operations from the airport while Eindhoven Airport undergoes runway renovation.

The new routes will operate between late March and mid-July 2027 and are now available for booking. They complement an existing winter programme that includes destinations such as Alicante, Málaga, Mallorca, Valencia, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Seville and Faro.

The expansion is linked to the closure of Eindhoven Airport from 1 February to 18 July 2027 for runway works. During this period, both Transavia and TUI fly will temporarily relocate part of their operations to Maastricht Aachen Airport.

TUI fly will operate winter services from Maastricht to destinations including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Hurghada, Sal, Nador and Oujda, with its summer 2027 schedule yet to be announced.

Airport management sees the temporary relocation as an opportunity to demonstrate Maastricht Aachen Airport’s capability as a convenient departure point for leisure travel. The airport also hopes the additional traffic will highlight the demand for holiday flights from the Limburg region and strengthen relationships with both airlines.

The temporary programme will allow Dutch travellers to continue departing from an airport in the Netherlands while Eindhoven Airport remains closed for infrastructure upgrades.
