Marcel de Nooijer will leave his position as CEO of Transavia on 31 December 2025, after six years in the role. He will become Chief Executive Officer of Heerema Marine Contractors starting 1 January 2026, marking a move to a new industry after three decades in aviation.

During his tenure, De Nooijer led Transavia through a strong post-pandemic recovery and major strategic transformation, including:

  • Fleet renewal from Boeing to Airbus aircraft, improving efficiency and sustainability.
  • Launching an expanded sustainability agenda focused on CO? reduction and innovation.
  • Refreshing the Transavia brand for its 60th anniversary.
  • Strengthening the revenue model through ancillary services.
  • Expanding the network, including flights from Brussels Airport (since 2022) and a new crew base opening there in 2026.
  • Deepening maintenance collaboration with KLM through a new Schiphol hangar.

The Transavia Supervisory Board thanked De Nooijer for his leadership during a period marked by COVID-19, fleet modernisation, growth, and geopolitical challenges.

“I look back with pride on how we strengthened Transavia and built a solid foundation for the future. Now I’m ready for a new challenge in a different, but equally dynamic sector,” said De Nooijer.

The process to appoint his successor is underway, with further details to follow.
