On 22 July, radio communication between air traffic control and a Transavia Boeing 737-800 (PH-HSC) was lost flying over Bosnia. The Italian Air Force launched a QRA (quick reaction alert) and dispatched two Eurofighters to the aircraft in order to re-establish communications with air traffic control. The aircraft took off from Kos, Greece and continued their journey to Amsterdam Schiphol as HV1834. The two Eurofighters returned to base.

If communication is not forthcoming, the local air force will intervene according to procedures. The communication was finally restored quickly. The plane (PH-HSC) was able to continue the flight unhindered and without delay. 2/3
