KLM’s 06:00 flight from Norwich to Amsterdam KL1054, usually operated by Embraer E175 aircraft, was cancelled on 12 September, following the cancellation of the same service the previous day. KLM attributed Saturday’s cancellation to “measures imposed by the local government or air traffic control”, while Friday’s was listed as being for “operational reasons”.
Norwich Airport has faced disruption linked to staff sickness and industrial action. On Friday, it closed to air traffic during three periods, including from 20:30 until the end of the day. A late KLM arrival from Amsterdam was cancelled, and a TUI flight from Dalaman diverted to Stansted.
It remains unclear whether the two early-morning KLM departures were directly affected by the ongoing pay dispute between Prospect union members and the airport. All other flights scheduled for 12 September operated normally.
