KLM’s AI-powered “Airmail” reaches 6.3 million customers, cuts e-mail creation time by 90%

Share

KLM has officially launched Airmail, an AI-driven newsletter tool designed to deliver personalised, brand-consistent travel content at scale. Since its pilot in February and full rollout in August 2025, Airmail has generated 50 newsletters reaching 6.3 million customers, while reducing production time by 90% and maintaining high satisfaction scores.

The tool allows local marketing teams across KLM’s 65 markets to easily tailor content by destination and theme (e.g., city, culinary, nature, beach, arts & culture), inspiring travel and driving bookings. While AI powers automation, human review ensures accuracy, cultural nuance, and quality.

KLM envisions Airmail as a step toward fully automated, personalised customer journeys, blending AI efficiency with the airline’s longstanding focus on customer experience.
