The lavender plant’s purple flowers are borne in whorls held on spikes rising above the foliage. The plant is grown mainly for the extraction of essential oil used as fragrances for cosmetics, including soap and perfume.
All of KLM’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners are named after flowers or flowering plants such as the Sunflower, Carnation, Bougainvillea, Dahlia, Hibiscus, Mimosa and Jasmine. KLM’s 9th new Dreamliner is expected to arrive in July 2017.
