KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL1465 from Amsterdam to Marseille declared a mid-air emergency over French airspace on Friday morning (30 January), triggering a Squawk 7700 alert.
The Embraer E195-E2 aircraft PH-NXO made a rapid descent and diverted to Paris Orly, landing safely at around 11:00 CET after initiating the diversion at 10:43 CET. Emergency services were standing by on arrival, in line with standard procedures.
The remainder of the flight, as well as the return flight KL1466, were cancelled, and passengers were booked on alternative flights to reach their final destination. The diverted Embraer returned to Amsterdam as ferry flight KL9935 two hours after landing in Orly.
The cause of the emergency has not been disclosed, and KLM and French aviation authorities have not yet provided further details.
