KLM is deploying Boeing 777 and 787-10 aircraft on its Aruba and Bonaire services this winter, increasing premium seating capacity in response to demand for greater comfort.
The change, effective from 25 October, replaces Airbus A330 operations. According to the airline, the Boeing aircraft offer approximately 35 World Business Class seats and 24 Premium Comfort seats, compared with around 30 business-class seats on the A330. Capacity in other cabin categories remains broadly comparable.
Frédérique Pelger, KLM’s vice-president for Benelux, the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname, said passengers were increasingly choosing additional comfort and personalised service.
KLM is also expanding its Amsterdam–Curaçao schedule. The airline will operate nine weekly flights during the winter, rising to ten in January and February, twelve during the Christmas holidays and eleven during the spring school holidays.
The changes coincide with the 90th anniversary of KLM’s first official passenger flight to Bonaire on 31 May 1936.
