A call for strike has been issued by several Air France staff unions, the unions have requested a 6% general pay increase, but the French airline replied that “the company’s economic and financial situation, in a particularly aggressive competitive environment, made this general pay increase impossible without jeopardizing its growth, investment and resumed recruitments.”. Next to the previous strike days this month (3 and 7 April), the unions have called for six additional days to show their disagreement with the management:

For tomorrow (10 April) Air France is forced to cancel 25% of its flights, around 35% of the strikers are pilots, 20% cabin crew members and 13% ground staff. For the coming strike days Air France can’t predict the possible impact yet. “As soon as we have a more accurate estimate of the number of employees on strike and the impact on our operations, our flight schedule will be changed accordingly and made public the day before your departure.”

“Please note that Air France flights operated by an aircraft other than that of Air France or Joon will not be affected by this strike (HOP!, KLM, Delta…).

If you are booked on a flight departing on the dates mentioned above, we now offer rebooking options at no extra cost, no matter the fare.”
