Heavy snow in the Paris region is currently disrupting air operations at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly.
Today, Wednesday 7 February 2018, due to heavy snow in the Paris region, and difficulties in accessing the airports, aircraft handling operations are currently very slow.
Air France plans to operate 90% of its long-haul flights, 2/3 of its medium-haul flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and 50% of its short-haul flights from Paris-Orly. Given the weather conditions, significant delays are also expected at both airports.
Air France has implemented commercial measures allowing customers to postpone their trip free of charge and recommends its customers to do so wherever possible.
Air France and all its staff are mobilized to limit the impact of this situation. 5,000 agents are assisting customers 24/7. They are all equipped with tablets, allowing them to inform customers rapidly and in real time.
How to stay informed
Air France enables its customers to access continuously updated information:
– Air France Connect automatically sends text messages and emails to customers of cancelled or delayed flights who have provided their contact details. This free service for all Air France customers also automatically informs them of a change of boarding gate and delayed baggage on arrival.
In order to be personally notified in the event of flight irregularities, each customer must ensure that Air France has a way of contacting them by providing the company with the maximum amount of contact details (mobile phone or e-mail ) that they will be using during their trip.
– By calling 01 57 02 10 58, a toll-free number, for real-time information on the flight situation. Air France has also opened all its call centres.
Commercial measures to make it easier to change your flight
Air France allows its passengers, directly online at www.airfrance.com:
– to change their flight reservation at no extra charge;
– to refund unused tickets (for passengers who purchased their ticket more than 2 days previously from an Air France ticket office or on the Air France website);
– to print a certificate of flight delay or cancellation.
It will also be possible to change their reservation at the self-service kiosks at the airport, at no extra charge.
Strong collaboration with airport partners
In a disrupted situation, Air France works in close cooperation with its airport partners: Paris-Aéroports, Air Navigation and Météo France, to optimize the management of operations.
Air France and Paris Aéroport are also coordinating their efforts to better assist their customers, particularly in terms of managing hotel accommodation, catering for customers late at night and for transfers to hotels by bus or train (RER to Marne La Vallée or to the Provinces).
Additional areas operating 24/7 are also planned in the terminals at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly to facilitate customer service.
