HOP! introduces first ATR 72-600 to Air France Group

Air France’s regional subsidiary HOP! is bolstering its fleet with the introduction of the first of five new-generation ATR 72-600s as part of an agreement with the Danish lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The new aircraft will join HOP!’s 24-strong ATR fleet and will make its first commercial flight at the end of the week. The remaining aircraft are expected to be delivered before the end of this year.

The five modern ATR 72-600s will gradually replace the former ATR 72-500s as part of HOP!’s long-term strategy aiming at fleet modernization and network improvements. Airline’s ATRs currently in operation already demonstrated that they are productive, flexible and eco-efficient aircraft to serve short-haul market segments, while offering superior passenger comfort and a reduced environmental footprint.

The new turboprops will benefit from the latest technological developments that distinguish the -600s: a new avionics suite with latest generation glass cockpit, redesigned and stylish cabin interiors, enhanced engine performance and payload. The ATR 72-600s are not only known for their reliability and technology but are also the top-selling turboprop aircraft on the market.The new ATR 72-600 seats 72 passengers and will fly in a brand new livery of HOP! Air France.

To date, over 60 European airlines fly more than 260 ATR aircraft, a figure that accounts for 30% of total regional aircraft with less than 90 seats in operation in the region.
