Air France upgrades Premium cabin dining to strengthen upmarket positioning

Share

New second meal service in Premium now available on daytime flights lasting over 10 hours.

Air France is enhancing its Premium cabin offering with a revamped onboard dining experience, part of a broader strategy to elevate the product and better differentiate it from Economy class.

A key change is the introduction of a redesigned second meal service on flights longer than seven hours. Replacing the previous “Bon Appétit” bag—previously aligned with Economy service—the new offering is tailored specifically for Premium passengers and presented on a dedicated tray. The menu varies by flight timing, with continental breakfast options on overnight services and upgraded snack selections, including club sandwiches and salads, on daytime flights.

The airline is also reinforcing its “French-style” dining concept throughout the journey. Meals include a full-service offering with starter, hot main course, cheese, and dessert, accompanied by champagne after take-off. Main dishes have been developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Simonin, in partnership with Servair, focusing on seasonal and locally sourced French ingredients.

The onboard experience is further enhanced with curated wines selected by sommelier Xavier Thuizat and a signature cocktail created by mixologist Matthias Giroud. On longer daytime flights, additional touches such as ice cream service between meals are also being introduced.

Beyond catering, Air France continues to invest in the overall Premium cabin experience. The product—now installed on more than 80% of the long-haul fleet—features wider reclining seats, upgraded entertainment systems, and enhanced onboard amenities. Passengers also benefit from SkyPriority services at the airport, including dedicated check-in, priority boarding, and expedited security processing.

The upgrades underline Air France’s ongoing push to move its Premium cabin further upmarket, targeting travellers seeking a balance between comfort, service quality, and value on long-haul routes.
