Air France is celebrating 25 years of its Air&Rail intermodal service linking Brussels-Midi/Zuid station with Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, a pioneering air-rail offering first launched in 2001.
The service allows passengers to book combined train and flight journeys under a single ticket, integrating high-speed TGV connections with Air France’s global network. Over the past quarter-century, more than 4 million travellers have used the product across over 100,000 rail connections.
Key benefits include seamless baggage handling from Brussels to final destination, disruption protection, dedicated assistance, and loyalty perks via Flying Blue. The TGV station at Charles de Gaulle Airport enables direct access to nearly 200 destinations served by the airline’s hub.
Air France highlights the Air&Rail programme as a core component of its long-term decarbonisation strategy, promoting lower-carbon mobility by replacing short-haul flights with high-speed rail links, alongside broader initiatives such as fleet renewal and sustainable aviation fuel usage.
