Air France has introduced a redesigned cabin on its Embraer 190 aircraft, with the first flight taking place on September 1st from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Hamburg (AF1602, operated by HOP! Embraer 190 with registration F-HBLV). The upgrade features new leather seats in a 2-2 layout, adjustable headrests, device stands, USB A and C charging ports, and free high-speed Wi-Fi for all passengers.
Business customers benefit from front-row seating with added privacy via a curtain divider, and from October 2025, an empty adjacent seat.
By summer 2026, all Embraer 190s in the fleet will be refitted. The seats, designed by French manufacturer Expliseat and made from carbon fibre, titanium, and aluminium, are 30% lighter than the current model, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.
The cabin adopts Air France’s signature style seen on the Airbus A220, with blue, white, and red tones, elegant stitching, and a Paris-inspired herringbone carpet. The initiative aligns with Air France’s broader sustainability strategy, combining comfort upgrades with lower environmental impact.
