As from 27 March 2016, Air France will operate a daily flight to Amsterdam on departure from Rennes. The route will be operated by Embraer 145 equipped with 50 seats. In addition to its tourist attraction, the Brittany region is home to many companies, particularly in the technology, automobile and food sector. With the launch of the Rennes-Amsterdam route, Air France is strengthening its direct frequencies to Europe and is making travel easier for companies based in Rennes.
Moreover, by responding to the development strategy of Rennes airport’ network and at the request of local authorities, Air France’s objective is to enable customers in Rennes to have easy access to the international network while facilitating access to Rennes and the Brittany region for international tourist and business traffic.
This new European route will offer a multitude of global connecting opportunities that the Air France-KLM group can offer thanks to the hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol. Adapting flight frequencies and a combined fare offer for travel on Air France and KLM in a single trip are also strong assets for the Group.
The launch of this new direct European flight confirms the Air France-KLM group’s interest in Rennes airport, the potential of its catchment area and the interest of the Dutch market for the region.
The Group’s network is coordinated around the two hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol, which are among the four leading hubs in Europe. It is essential for Air France-KLM to offer rapid, optimized connections, as close to half of its customers have connecting flights.
The European hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol are connected by 12 daily flight frequencies. The Air France and KLM network is thus better connected, to provide customers with flights to 316 destinations in 103 countries worldwide.
To mark the launch of the Rennes – Amsterdam-Schiphol route, Air France is offering fares at 149 € including tax(*) for a round trip as from 15 December 2015. Bookings are possible until the eve of departure, subject to availability. A combinable and totally flexible fare offer allowing customers to combine trips on both Air France and KLM.
(*) excluding service charges, launch fare goes on sale from 15 to 22 December 2015 for flights operated between 27 March and 30 September 2016.
