Air France increases service between Europe and Cuba

une_siege_AF_630x0Starting from October 2015, Air France will operate an additional flight (Wednesday) to Havana, in-creasing its offer to 11 weekly frequencies during winter 2015.

Present in Cuba for the past seventeen years, Air France has become the leading airline between Cuba and Europe, supporting tourism development on the island.
Air France began serving Havana in 1998. On departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, the Company operates, by Boeing 777-300 equipped with 468 seats, a daily flight throughout the summer season, and an additional four weekly flights (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) in winter 2015.

 

Air France-KLM, leading operator between Havana and Europe

Since 2011, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been linking Havana from Amsterdam-Schiphol with 3 weekly flights in the summer (Monday, Thursday and Sunday) and 4 in winter (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday), operated by Airbus A330-200 with 243 seats.
Air France-KLM ranks as the European leader in trans-Atlantic service with its offer of 15 weekly flights and up to 3 daily frequencies between Cuba and Europe in the winter.
In 2014, close to 420,000 passengers chose Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for their flight be-tween Europe and Cuba.

 

Air France continues to expand in Cuba

In April 2014, Air France and Cubana de Aviación signed an interline partnership agreement allowing Cuba’s national carrier to operate flights to more than 30 Air France destinations in Europe and the Caribbean and enabling Air France to access Cubana de Aviación’s domestic market.
In May 2014, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) created a solid base for extended cooperation. The subjects discussed included notably a code-share agreement and the means to fur-ther increase connecting traffic from Paris and Havana.
