Air France continues to renew its fleet and took delivery of a new Airbus A320, registration number F-HEPJ, in Toulouse, on 20 October. This new aircraft seating 174 passengers is the 44th to join the company’s medium-haul fleet. This new aircraft is equipped with “sharklets”, wing tips designed to improve the aircraft’s aerodynamics and reduce its fuel consumption by up to 3% depending on the flight duration.
In terms of in-flight comfort, the aircraft will be equipped with Air France’s latest medium-haul seats. On its arrival at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, it will be adapted in line with the company’s standards and the finishing touches will be added with, for example, the installation of USB sockets on all seats. This aircraft will operate flights on the Europe network on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle starting from the week of 29 October 2017.
Comment: it is remarkable that Air France has not joined the bandwagon of airlines fitting 180 seats in the A320.
