Air Europa will consolidate its presence in Central America by inaugurating its new route to Panama in June, and, at the same time, will offer its passengers the codeshare option with Copa Airlines to fly to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.

With this business alliance, to come into effect on June 3, when Air Europa passengers will first land in Panama aboard one of the company’s Dreamliner aircraft, the airline division of Spain’s leading tourism group, Globalia, will increase its international presence by offering passengers seamless connections to four new Copa Airlines destinations in Central America through the Hub of the Americas in Panama City; the aforementioned hub links up with the largest international airline network in Latin America, with 81 destinations in 33 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Under the agreement, Air Europa will operate daily codeshare flights between Panama and the cities of San José (Costa Rica), Managua (Nicaragua), San Salvador (El Salvador) and Guatelama City (Guatemala), offering passengers a quick, convenient connection to and from all these destinations.

Globalia’s airline, Air Europa, will also offer Copa Airlines’ passengers arriving in Madrid excellent connecting flights to 23 domestic destinations and 15 in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Air Europa’s commercial director, Imanol Pérez, has expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the agreement, stating that “it represents a major milestone that will lead to substantial gains for both companies. Our passengers now have the option to fly to new destinations in Latin America via the Hub of the Americas, and Copa Airlines’ passengers, via our Madrid Hub, will now be able to fly to over 35 of our destinations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Imanol Pérez went on to say that these new destinations “help to consolidate Air Europa as the leading airline between Europe and America, where we operate our own direct flights from Madrid to 21 other cities and more than 30 codeshare cities“.
