A 41-year-old male passenger held a female flight attendant hostage on board an Air China Airbus A321 (reg. B-6555) flying between Changsha and Beijing. The passenger threatened the flight attendant with a knife. Flight CA1350 safely diverted to Zhengzhou.
The Civil Aviation Authority of China said in a statement on its website that “On April 15, 2018, a male passenger on board flight CA1350 from Changsha to Beijing, threatened the flight attendant using a sharp object. The crew diverted to Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport according to the standard operating procedures. At 13:17, the incident was successfully solved and the passengers and crew members were safe.“
According to Zhenghou police officers the alleged hostage-taker had a history of mental illness and suffered from an unknown and sudden psychological disorder.
