Air China will launch flights between Iceland and China on 26 October 2026, establishing the first direct air link between the two countries. The flight from Copenhagen to Keflavik will operate as a fifth-freedom flight and is a tag-on of the Beijing to Copenhagen route.

The route will operate 3 times per week with Airbus A330-300 equipment. The new service, announced by the Chinese Embassy in Iceland, is being positioned as an important addition to air connectivity between Asia and Europe. Tickets are already available for purchase through Air China’s website.

The route is expected to provide a significant boost to Iceland’s tourism industry and strengthen business and travel links between the two countries. Earlier this year, industry estimates suggested the new connection could generate billions of Icelandic krónur in additional tourism export revenue.
