Air China launched scheduled flights between Beijing and Keflavík on 26 October, establishing the Icelandic airport’s first scheduled connection to mainland China.
The Airbus A330-300 service operates three times weekly with a stopover in Copenhagen, expanding Keflavík’s links with Asia and providing additional travel options between Iceland and China.
Airport operator Isavia said the route would support tourism and business links while helping diversify Keflavík’s network. Chief executive Sveinbjörn Indriðason described the launch as a milestone for Iceland’s international connectivity and an opportunity to strengthen trade and bilateral ties.
Passengers and crew on the inaugural flight were welcomed at Keflavík during an arrival ceremony. The announcement did not specify the aircraft type, operating days or whether tickets are available separately for the Copenhagen–Keflavík sector.
