Air Canada will upgrade its daily Montreal – Brussels route to a Boeing 787-9, according to Airlineroute.

The flagship airline of Canada released its winter plans, and Brussels is going to get an upgrade as from 26 October 2019: a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will replace the current Boeing 787-8. It is the second replacement within 2 years and a half.

Already during the Easter Holidays, a few Boeing 787-9 aircraft were replacing their little sisters at Brussels Airport.

The Boeing 787-8 was introduced by Air Canada during the Easter Holidays in 2017, replacing the Airbus A330-300, and the replacement was fully completed step by step during that year.

The Boeing 787-9 in Air Canada’s configuration has 47 more seats than the smaller model (10 in business class, 37 in economy), for a total of 298 seats.

Montreal is Air Canada’s only destination from Brussels, together with Air Transat, while Brussels Airlines only flies to Toronto, the main base of Air Canada.

Air Canada should be the fourth airline to introduce a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Brussels Airport, after Ethiopian, ANA and Etihad.
