Air Canada Rouge aborted its takeoff run after ingesting some slush and snow at Vancouver

Share

An Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767 (C-GSCA) was taking off at Vancouver airport but aborted its takeoff run at about 76 knots when slush and snow caused the left engine to surge and backfire. The aircraft taxied back to its gate and the airline subsequently cancelled the flight to Zihuatanejo (ZIH).

One of the passengers on board witnessed the event: “There was a loud boom and we could smell burning rubber. Very glad it did not take off ?”
