Air Canada has resumed direct flights between Budapest and Toronto, operating five times per week throughout the 2026 summer season. The service runs from 6 June to 24 October using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy seating.
The route strengthens Hungary’s long-haul connectivity, providing nearly 48,000 seats during the season and linking Budapest directly with Canada’s largest city in a flight of approximately nine hours. Through Toronto Pearson Airport, passengers gain access to Air Canada’s extensive network across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Latin America and South America.
Budapest Airport CEO François Berisot described the route as one of the most anticipated additions of the summer schedule and highlighted it as the airport’s second direct North American destination this season. Air Canada noted that it is currently the only airline offering a non-stop service between Budapest and Toronto.
The airline expects strong demand for the route, which serves a market of nearly 90,000 annual travellers between Hungary and Canada. The service is expected to appeal to leisure travellers, river cruise passengers, visitors travelling to see friends and relatives, business travellers and the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector.
