Air Canada has inaugurated a new non-stop route between Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Montréal, expanding BER’s long-haul network with three weekly flights operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays until 6 September. The service is already scheduled to return in summer 2027, when it will increase to four weekly flights from early June to mid-October.
The route is being launched with the Boeing 787-8 before transitioning to the Airbus A321XLR from 19 July, making BER the first airport in Germany to receive regular scheduled A321XLR long-haul services. The new-generation aircraft features 182 seats, including 14 in Business Class, and enables Air Canada to serve transatlantic markets more efficiently.
Via its Montréal hub, Air Canada offers passengers extensive onward connections across Canada and North America. Airport, tourism and business leaders welcomed the new service, highlighting its potential to strengthen economic, cultural and academic ties between Germany and Québec, boost tourism, and improve connectivity for key industries such as aerospace, artificial intelligence, deep technology and the creative sector.
Flights depart Berlin at 11:40, arriving in Montréal at 13:45 local time after an 8-hour 40-minute journey. Return flights leave Montréal at 20:30, arriving in Berlin at 10:15 the following day.
