Air Canada has suspended all Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights after 10,000 flight attendants represented by CUPE went on strike at 00:58 ET on August 16, 2025. The walkout affects roughly 700 daily flights and up to 130,000 passengers per day.
Operations by Air Canada Express, Air Canada Jazz, and PAL Airlines continue unaffected. The airline advises customers not to go to airports unless booked on other carriers and is offering rebooking options or travel credits.
Air Canada says it regrets the disruption and continues to seek a new collective agreement with CUPE.
