Air Canada is boosting its largest hub at Toronto Pearson International Airport with a wave of new international routes and fresh widebody capacity, underscoring the airline’s global ambitions.

The carrier will launch new flights this winter from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cartagena, Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadalajara and Puerto Escondido, strengthening its South America and leisure network. Looking further ahead, non-stop service to Shanghai and Budapest will return in summer 2026, alongside additional frequencies to Prague.

The expansion comes as Air Canada prepares to introduce the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, with the first units to be based in Toronto to support long-haul growth. The fleet modernisation also includes the Airbus A321XLR, which will unlock new transatlantic opportunities.

“Air Canada continues to reinforce its significant network at Toronto Pearson and our bold, global growth trajectory will further cement its position as a leading international hub on the continent,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Toronto Pearson CEO Deborah Flint highlighted the airport’s role as launch partner for the 787-10 and its ongoing LIFT infrastructure program, which aims to expand capacity and enhance the passenger experience.
