On June 26, 2025, Air Canada announced an expanded codeshare agreement with Lufthansa, adding Lufthansa Express Rail services—operated by Deutsche Bahn—at Frankfurt Airport. The partnership allows passengers to book a single seamless itinerary that combines air and rail travel to 24 destinations across Germany, connecting with Air Canada’s up to five daily flights to Frankfurt.
This upgrade from interline to codeshare enhances customer convenience by offering one-ticket bookings, streamlined check-in, and guaranteed connections. It builds on Air Canada’s broader intermodal strategy, which includes rail and coach partnerships in eight countries across Europe and Asia.
