Air Canada will add seven international routes and five new destinations in summer 2027 as it expands across Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The airline’s new services comprise:
- Vancouver–Guangzhou: three weekly Boeing 787 flights, year-round from 4 May, subject to approval
- Toronto–Oslo: four weekly Airbus A321XLR flights from 2 June to 11 October
- Toronto–Shannon: three weekly A321XLR flights from 10 June to 3 October
- Toronto–Nice: twice weekly by Airbus A330-300 from 16 June to 23 October
- Montréal–Basel-Mulhouse: four weekly A321XLR flights from 16 June to 24 October
- Montréal–Dubrovnik: three weekly Boeing 787 flights from 11 May to 24 October
Air Canada will also restore its additional daytime Toronto–London Heathrow service, increase Toronto–Shanghai to daily and operate Toronto–Guatemala City throughout the year. Montréal services to Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City will similarly become year-round.
The expansion relies partly on Air Canada’s incoming A321XLR fleet, which will feature a two-cabin layout with lie-flat Signature Class seats. The aircraft will operate the new Oslo, Shannon and Basel routes.
During summer 2027, Air Canada plans to offer more than 125 international routes and as many as 169,000 weekly seats from Canada to over 85 destinations outside the country. This represents an increase of more than 8% in international available seat kilometres compared with summer 2026.
The airline expects its wider growth strategy to create more than 1,500 direct jobs by 2028. Tickets for the announced routes are now on sale, although schedules may change and Guangzhou remains subject to government approval.
