Air Cairo will expand into the Nordic market with new direct flights from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Cairo and Hurghada starting in the winter 2026 season.
Oslo – Cairo: 2 weekly flights (Mondays and Thursdays)
Oslo – Hurghada: 1 weekly flight (Sundays)
Flights will be operated using 180-seat Airbus A320 family aircraft (ceo and neo variants), with midday departures and arrivals.
The new services will allow passengers travelling from Oslo to connect through Cairo or Hurghada to domestic destinations across Egypt, cities in Africa, markets in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and other destinations in the Middle East
The move reflects Air Cairo’s broader European expansion strategy, strengthening links between Northern Europe and Egypt’s cultural and leisure destinations.
Cairo: gateway to historical sites such as the Pyramids of Giza
Hurghada: major Red Sea resort city popular for beach tourism and diving
Officials at Oslo Airport noted that Cairo had long been a desired destination from Norway and expect the routes to stimulate tourism as well as business and cultural exchange.
