Air Belgium considers twice-weekly flights between Brussels South Charleroi and Fort-de-France, Martinique

Air Belgium considers operating twice-weekly flights between Brussels South Charleroi Airport and Fort-de-France, Martinique, an insular region of France located in the eastern Caribbean Sea.

The first discussions were initiated during the ITB Berlin (March) where Air Belgium met with the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme (CMT) and Martinique Aimé Césaire Airport (SAMAC).

A few days ago, an Air Belgium delegation, led by Air Belgium’s CEO Niky Terzakis was in Martinique on invitation by CMT. Several meetings took place with the private and institutional actors of the tourism industry.

After the meetings, Terzakis was very happy with the discussions and thanked CMT’s CEO Karine Mousseau for helping to develop the route between Charleroi and Fort-de-France.

A decision to operate the only direct flight between Belgium and Martinique should be taken in the following weeks.

Air Belgium spokesman Nicolas Boulart told that a possible destination in Martinique is part of a broader plan covering other countries in the Caribbean.
