An Air Atlanta Europe Boeing 747-400 freighter diverted to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport after encountering an unspecified problem shortly after departing Liège for Kinshasa.
Flight CC2615, operated by aircraft 9H-AKA, stopped climbing and entered an extended holding pattern over the English Channel before turning north towards Amsterdam. Flight-tracking data showed the aircraft descending towards Schiphol after spending nearly two hours airborne.
The crew did not select emergency transponder code 7700, and the airline has not disclosed the reason for the diversion. The aircraft subsequently landed safely in Amsterdam.
