Air Astana has taken a major step in its long-term fleet renewal strategy, signing a Memorandum of Understanding for up to 50 Airbus A320neo family aircraft in what would be the largest order in the airline’s history.
The deal comprises 25 firm orders and 25 options, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2031. The airline plans to deploy a significant share of the aircraft as A321LRs, building on its early adoption of the long-range variant for services across Asia and Europe.
CEO Peter Foster said the commitment underscores Air Astana’s focus on efficiency and sustainable growth, noting the A320neo family’s strong performance across the Group’s operations. The carrier, together with low-cost arm FlyArystan, currently operates 62 aircraft, including 59 from the A320 family.
