Air Arabia has inaugurated a new five-times-weekly non-stop service between Sharjah and Rome Fiumicino, making the Italian capital the airline’s second destination in Italy after Milan Bergamo.
The new route strengthens connectivity between the UAE and Italy, supporting tourism, business and cultural ties, and was celebrated with inaugural events at both Sharjah and Rome airports. From Sharjah, Air Arabia’s European network now includes 10 destinations, comprising Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, Kraków, Warsaw Chopin, Warsaw Modlin, London Gatwick and Rome.
The Sharjah–Rome service is operated with the airline’s latest Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering improved fuel efficiency. Rome Fiumicino said the new route further enhances its role as a gateway between Italy and the Middle East, following strong passenger growth in 2025.
