Air Arabia has announced the launch of daily non-stop flights between Sharjah and Rome, further strengthening its European footprint and expanding direct connectivity between the UAE and Italy.

The new service will commence on July 1, 2026, linking Sharjah International Airport with Rome Fiumicino Airport. Rome becomes the carrier’s second Italian destination from Sharjah, complementing its existing operations to Milan Bergamo.

The route will be operated using the Airbus A320neo, the latest addition to Air Arabia’s fleet, offering improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and enhanced passenger comfort.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said the move reflects the airline’s continued focus on expanding direct, value-driven connectivity to key international markets.

“We are pleased to further expand our European footprint with the launch of daily flights to Rome, one of the world’s most iconic and culturally significant cities. Expanding our presence in Italy reflects our continued commitment to offering convenient, direct connectivity to key international destinations while delivering reliable, value-driven travel options to our customers,” he said.

Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, welcomed the new carrier, noting that the Sharjah service will further diversify Rome’s connectivity to the Arabian Peninsula and reinforce Fiumicino’s international position.
