Air Algérie has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-900, marking the start of a major renewal of its long-haul fleet and reinforcing its longstanding partnership with Airbus. The widebody will support the airline’s expansion from Algiers, including new transatlantic and Asian routes.
The carrier will receive seven additional A330neos, positioning Air Algérie as Africa’s largest operator of the type. The aircraft is configured in a three-class layout with 18 Business Class full-flat seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 266 Economy seats.
The A330neo features Airbus’ Airspace cabin, offering more personal space, enlarged overhead bins, modern lighting, and the latest IFE and connectivity systems. Air Algérie also plans to develop a maintenance training centre and enhance its MRO capabilities to become a regional centre of excellence for the A330neo.
The Airbus A330 Family has accumulated over 1,900 orders from more than 130 customers. The A330neo is certified to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) today, with Airbus targeting 100% SAF capability by 2030.
