Aeroméxico transported 1.853 million passengers in September 2026, as passenger demand grew slightly faster than capacity and the Mexican carrier continued to shift its network towards key international markets.
Total capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), increased 3.4% year-on-year, while revenue passenger miles (RPMs) rose 3.6%.
The airline consequently achieved a load factor of 87.1%, up 0.1 percentage points compared with September 2025.
CEO Andrés Conesa said the results reflected Aeroméxico’s strategy of aligning capacity closely with demand, with the continued shift towards important international markets supporting overall traffic growth and a strong performance outside Mexico.
The figures were achieved despite the normal seasonal moderation in demand following the peak summer travel period.
Aeroméxico nevertheless warned that higher jet fuel prices are creating a more challenging cost environment than previously anticipated. The airline said it will continue to optimise capacity deployment and pursue demand opportunities while focusing on long-term profitability.
The September figures underline a relatively disciplined growth strategy: with demand increasing slightly faster than capacity, Aeroméxico maintained a high load factor while continuing to strengthen the international component of its network.
