Aerolíneas Argentinas has announced its largest fleet renewal programme in more than ten years, confirming the addition of 20 new aircraft between 2027 and 2031 as part of a major modernisation strategy unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The plan includes six Airbus A330-900neos, eight Boeing 737 MAX 10s and six Boeing 737 MAX 8s, replacing around 25% of the airline’s total fleet and 60% of its long-haul aircraft. The first new Boeing 737 MAX 8 is scheduled to enter service in early 2027, while deliveries of the A330neo fleet are expected to begin in 2028.
The A330neo aircraft will enhance the carrier’s long-haul operations with improved fuel efficiency and a new three-class cabin featuring Business, Premium Economy and Economy seating. The 737 MAX 8 and MAX 10 fleets will strengthen domestic and regional services with greater capacity and lower operating costs.
Aerolíneas Argentinas said the programme will be financed entirely from its own resources, citing improved financial performance in recent years. The airline reported positive operating results in both 2024 and 2025 and noted that it operated in 2025 without financial support from the Argentine government for the first time since returning to state ownership.
The investment programme also includes upgrades to the cabins of the airline’s existing Airbus A330 fleet, reinforcing its strategy of improving operational efficiency, passenger experience and long-term financial sustainability.
