Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas have expanded their long-standing cooperation with a new bilateral codeshare that brings Avianca into an agreement previously limited to GOL. The deal significantly boosts connectivity between Colombia and Argentina, covering nine Colombian cities and twelve in Argentina, while also extending their interline partnership to 30 additional destinations across the Caribbean, Central, and South America.
Under the expanded arrangement, passengers will benefit from single-ticket itineraries, unified check-in, and smoother transfers across both networks. Avianca will attach its code to flights from Buenos Aires to major Argentine destinations such as Bariloche, Mendoza, Ushuaia, and Iguazú. Aerolíneas Argentinas, in turn, will place its code on Avianca services from Bogotá to cities including Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, and San Andrés.
The agreement builds on a 2023 memorandum of understanding between Aerolíneas Argentinas and Grupo Abra and still requires regulatory approval. Leadership from both companies said the strengthened partnership will enhance regional competitiveness and offer passengers a wider range of travel options.
