PJSC Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev and president of Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Alexander Zhukov signed a sponsorship agreement.
The agreement, according to which Aeroflot becomes General Partner of ROC and the official carrier of the Russian Olympic team, will be in effect for a period of four years.
Under the agreement, Aeroflot will carry over 6,000 members of the Russian Olympic team. In 2017, the airline will fly ROC members to the XIV European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, Hungary. In 2018, Aeroflot will fly ROC members to the XXIII Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, the III Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the III Youth Winter Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2020, to the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan and a number of other sporting events.
Additionally, the agreement allows both parties to implement joint projects aimed at developing and promoting the Olympic movement within Russia.
ROC grants Aeroflot the right to associate itself with the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian Olympic team, the right to use Olympic paraphernalia in its marketing and advertising campaigns as well as the right to sponsor advertising.
The title partner will pay a money remuneration to the ROC and provide transportation for the Russian Olympic team.
The Russian Olympic Committee has cooperated with Aeroflot since 1994. For Aeroflot, the support of Russian sports and physical fitness is a long-standing tradition.

Moreover, events in countries such as South Korea and Japan, which take far more than an hour to fly to, lie ahead of us. Therefore, I am very pleased that today we have signed a new long-term cooperation agreement, which I am sure will be mutually beneficial, and our joint efforts will contribute to the victorious results of our Olympians.”
