Aeroflot PJSC today announces operating results for Aeroflot Group (“the Group”) and Aeroflot – Russian Airlines (“the Company”) for June and 6M 2018[1].
6M 2018 Operating Highlights
In 6M 2018, Aeroflot Group carried 24.9 million passengers, up 8.2% year-on-year. Aeroflot airline carried 16.2 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. Group and Company RPKs increased by 7.7% and 5.0% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs rose by 8.5% year-on-year for the Group and by 8.1% year-on-year for the Company. The passenger load factor decreased by 0.6 p.p. year-on-year to 80.0% for Aeroflot Group and by 2.3 p.p. to 78.0% for Aeroflot airline.
June 2018 Operating Highlights
In June 2018, Aeroflot Group carried 5.2 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%, underlining the continuation of the trend of accelerating traffic growth. Aeroflot airline carried 3.2 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%.
Group and Company RPKs were up 9.4% and 7.2% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs rose by 9.5% for Aeroflot Group and by 9.0% for Aeroflot airline.
On domestic routes, Group passengers carried and RPKs grew by 11.5% and 9.7% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs grew by 9.2% year-on-year. Company passengers carried and RPKs increased by 11.3% and 7.4% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs grew by 9.8%.
In June 2018, the number of passengers carried on the Group’s international routes increased by 11.2% year-on-year. RPKs grew by 9.2%, while capacity grew by 9.8%. The number of passengers carried by Aeroflot airline on international routes increased by 8.0%. RPKs grew by 7.1%, ASKs by 8.5%.
Aeroflot Group’s passenger load factor was 85.5%, representing a 0.1 percentage point decrease versus the same period a year earlier. The passenger load factor at Aeroflot – Russian Airlines declined by 1.4 percentage points year-on-year to 83.7%. The load factor declined less than was the case in previous months, supported by Russia’s hosting of the World Cup during the reporting period.
Fleet update
In June 2018, Aeroflot Group added nine aircraft: two Boeing 777-300ER, two Airbus ?320, two Boeing 737-800 and three SSJ100. One Airbus A320 was phased out. As of 30 June 2018, the Group fleet had 350 aircraft.
