Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has completed its acquisition of 100% of Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) in a transaction valued at approximately US$2.0 billion, significantly expanding its global leasing footprint and customer base.
With the completion of this deal, DAE’s fleet now totals approximately 750 aircraft (owned, managed, and committed), including an owned and managed fleet of 650 aircraft leased to 161 airlines in 74 countries. This cements DAE’s status as the third-largest aircraft lessor worldwide by fleet size.
“This transformative acquisition enhances our position as a global leader in aircraft leasing,” said Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE. “It also deepens our relationships with OEMs across a broader spectrum of aircraft types and strengthens our offering to customers with more cost-effective solutions.”
NAC, founded 35 years ago, was a leading regional aircraft lessor, primarily focused on turboprops. DAE’s expanded portfolio now includes a wider range of regional and narrowbody aircraft, reinforcing its competitive position across multiple market segments.
DAE was advised by Allen Overy Shearman Sterling LLP and KPMG. The deal, originally announced in January 2025, marks one of the most significant consolidations in the aviation leasing industry this year.
