Lessor BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with Airbus to acquire three new aircraft—two A321neo and one A320neo—that will be placed on long-term lease with South American ultra-low-cost carrier JetSMART Airlines. The aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, are scheduled for delivery in 2027.

This marks the third transaction between the two companies. BOC Aviation CEO Steven Townend said the deal underscores the lessor’s ability to provide flexible financing solutions to support customer fleet growth, highlighting JetSMART’s expansion in Latin America’s rapidly growing aviation market.

JetSMART CEO and Founder Estuardo Ortiz said the agreement supports the airline’s long-term strategy of operating 120 aircraft by 2031 and carrying 100 million passengers by 2028. He emphasised that the additional fuel-efficient aircraft align with the airline’s commitment to sustainability while strengthening its partnership with BOC Aviation.
