BOC Aviation has signed a second sale-and-leaseback agreement with Akasa Air for three additional Boeing 737-8200 aircraft, further strengthening the lessor’s relationship with the fast-growing Indian airline.
The aircraft, powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, will be delivered by the end of 2026 under long-term operating leases.
BOC Aviation Chief Commercial Officer Paul Kent said the agreement follows a successful transaction completed in November and supports Akasa Air’s continued expansion in India and international markets. He highlighted the Boeing 737 family’s strong fuel efficiency and its importance within BOC Aviation’s portfolio.
Akasa Air’s Chief of Governance & Strategic Acquisitions Priya Mehra said the deal reflects both companies’ confidence in Akasa Air’s long-term growth prospects and in the broader Indian aviation market.
She added that the agreement supports Akasa’s strategy of expanding with a modern, fuel-efficient fleet while preserving capital efficiency, financial flexibility and operational resilience.
