SkeyDrone and Airport Intelligence have announced a strategic collaboration to provide international airports with a comprehensive, end-to-end approach to drone detection, response and operational impact mitigation.
As drone sightings around airports increase, unverified reports are frequently triggering runway closures, flight delays and diversions, resulting in significant financial losses, passenger disruption and reputational damage. The partners emphasise that effective drone management necessitates more than standalone technology; instead, it requires a phased strategy that combines detection systems with governance, procedures, training, and regulatory alignment.
Under the partnership, SkeyDrone contributes advanced drone detection and monitoring technology, including real-time analysis and a threat assessment module designed to reduce false or disproportionate alerts. The system can be adapted to each airport’s operational environment, including runway configurations and airspace layouts.
Airport Intelligence complements this capability with its operational aviation expertise, translating drone detections into actionable airport processes. This includes developing a clear Concept of Operations (CONOPS), defining escalation paths and response protocols, and integrating drone events into existing airport safety, security and regulatory frameworks to minimise unnecessary operational disruption.
Executives from both companies emphasised that airports are increasingly requiring integrated solutions that seamlessly link technology with decision-making and operational execution. By combining proven detection tools with practical, airport-ready operational concepts, the joint offering aims to help airports manage drone risks more effectively while maintaining safety, continuity and passenger confidence.
